British Formula Two driver Callum Ilott has announced that he will not be racing in Formula One next year, ending months of speculation linking him to a move to Haas.
In a tweet posted on Monday morning, Ilott said he will do everything possible to earn himself a seat on the F1 grid for 2022.

“It is time I announce that I have been told I will not be racing F1 in 2021. Obviously I have known this for a couple weeks now,” Ilott wrote.
“I am disappointed, but I will just work harder and do what it takes to make sure it happens in 2022. Anyway, I have a championship I want to win,” he added.
Ilott is currently second in the Formula Two Drivers’ Standings, just 14 points adrift of fellow Ferrari junior driver Mick Schumacher.
The news adds weight to reports that Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin will be joining the Haas F1 Team next year, replacing Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean.
