Mick Schumacher & Nikita Mazepin Poised To Join Haas

Last week, sources told Formula1News.co.uk that Nikita Mazepin will “definitely” join the Haas F1 Team next year.

Alfa Romeo announced this morning that its driver line-up will remain unchanged next season, with Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi being retained by the team.

Mick Schumacher was seen by many as most likely to end up at Alfa Romeo in 2021, as he was poised to take part in Free Practice One with them at the Eifel GP and reports suggested he was close to signing a contract.

However, it now seems that Haas – another Ferrari customer team – is the most likely destination for the Formula Two Championship leader and Ferrari Driver Academy member.

The American racing outfit recently announced that both of its current drivers won’t be retained beyond the end of this year, so they will have an all-new driver line-up in 2021.

Callum Ilott, another promising member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, has been linked with the Haas F1 Team and was previously seen as favourite by many to land a drive with them.

However, the second Haas seat is reportedly reserved for Nikita Mazepin, as sources told Formula1News.co.uk last week that the Russian driver will “definitely” be racing with the team next year.
