Valtteri Bottas suffered a puncture on the opening lap of the restart at Sakhir on Sunday, forcing him to pit for a new set of tyres early on.
However, later in the race, he had to return to the same set as Mercedes didn’t have a brand-new set of C3-compound tyres remaining, so they only changed three tyres on Bottas’ car.

This prompted quite a reaction on social media and in the comments section of the video on YouTube, with netizens poking fun at Bottas’ number two status at Mercedes.
“Valtteri, it’s James, we need the fourth tyre for Lewis,” one commenter joked.
Another netizen posted: “No Valtteri, you will not have the fourth tyre,” in a variation of the meme about Ferrari not connecting Kimi Raikkonen’s drink bottle at the 2018 Hungarian Grand Prix.
