McLaren star Lando Norris has further opened up on his personal battles with mental health, with the British driver having first discussed his mental challenges in 2021.
The British driver is approaching his fifth season already in Formula 1, with the 23-year-old certainly a driver expected to achieve incredible things.
He has managed some exceptional results for McLaren since joining the Woking-based outfit in 2019, a year where the team began their journey back to the front of the midfield.
Norris has led McLaren majestically the last couple of years and is unlucky to not have a race win to his name yet; however, it is most certainly on the horizon.

His talent and ability are up there with the very best in the paddock, arguably why Red Bull have approached the British driver on several occasions.
Despite performing incredibly on-track, though, he has really opened up on his personal fights off the circuit, after questioning if he’s “good enough” to be at the pinnacle of motorsport.
The British star first discussed his mental health issues in 2021 whilst appearing on ITV show ‘This Morning’, before further opening up to GQ magazine.
“It was a choice [to speak about mental health], because I struggled quite a bit with it in 2019 and 2020,” said Norris in an interview with GQ.
“I just didn’t know how to deal with it. I kept all of it inside and it really hurt my self-belief and self-confidence, which got to an all-time low,” he said.
“I doubted myself: ‘Am I good enough to be in Formula 1? Can I come back from this?’
“You’re never going to please everyone. There are people that support you and people that don’t. I know I’m doing the best I can.
“A few people said that I had saved their life. That hits you pretty hard.”
Norris recently revealed how much former team-mate Daniel Ricciardo had taught him about coping with mental challenges, despite having out-performed the Australian on a Grand Prix basis.
“I’ve still been able to learn a hell of a lot from Daniel,” Norris told ESPN.
“His approach to racing, his mentality with it all, [you] see in the tough times how he keeps so strong with it all and has so much belief in himself.

“That’s something I struggled a lot with when I came into F1 and something I’ve been able to learn a lot from him over the past couple of years.
“But even on the driving side, how he drives the car in many ways. Like you can see those instances of what’s made him so good, and I guess I’ve tried to take them on board.
“It’s not an easy thing to do but the more I’ve been able to learn from him, the better I’ve become and that’s certainly a good thing for me.”
