German magazine Sport Bild has reported that Mick Schumacher, the former Haas driver and current test and reserve driver for Mercedes, is being considered by both Williams and Sauber for a potential seat in the 2024 Formula 1 season.
Recent rumours have suggested that Williams, powered by Mercedes engines, may be particularly interested in Schumacher following his impressive performance during the Pirelli test in Barcelona, where he completed nearly 150 laps in a current Mercedes car.
The rumour further implies that James Vowles, formerly a strategist at Mercedes and now the new team principal at Williams, has never fully supported the team’s current American rookie, Logan Sargeant.
With both Sargeant and fellow rookie Nyck de Vries struggling to score any points so far in the 2023 season, the potential return of Schumacher could bring a fresh dynamic to the team.

When asked about the possibility of a mid-season return to Formula 1, the 24-year-old Schumacher expressed his willingness, stating: “I would do it. Of course, it’s unlikely that something like this will happen.
“There are also contracts that are mostly kept to.
“But basically, I believe that every team is a good option. I’m always ready for action.
“Believe me, I am working very hard to hopefully be back in a car soon. Very soon.
“By next year at the latest, it should be that time for me again. I’m sure something will develop in the near future.”
