Max Verstappen remains unfazed by Sergio Perez’s ongoing struggles at Red Bull, asserting that the Mexican’s performance is not his concern.
With Verstappen qualifying on pole for the Canadian Grand Prix, the two-time World Champion has a prime opportunity to solidify his position for a third title.
Meanwhile, Perez’s disappointing performance saw him fail to progress to Q3 once again.
Perez’s struggles have persisted since his crash in Q1 at Monaco, with his lack of pace in Spain further compounding his difficulties.

This consistent failure to make a Q3 appearance has raised concerns about his ability to compete against his teammate and hindered his chances in the Drivers’ standings.
Verstappen currently leads the championship by an impressive 53 points, creating a substantial barrier for any potential challengers.
No driver in Formula 1 history has ever managed to overturn such a significant deficit, highlighting the magnitude of Verstappen’s advantage.
During an interview with Dutch media, Verstappen addressed Perez’s struggles, stating: “If I hadn’t been there, the situation would have been very different for Red Bull.
“I wouldn’t be pleased with failing to reach Q3 three times in a row, but it’s not something that concerns me.
“I am focused on my side of the garage, ensuring everything is in order. That’s where my attention lies.”

Red Bull’s overwhelming dominance has effectively transformed the Drivers’ championship into a two-horse race between Verstappen and Perez.
When asked about his teammate’s ongoing issues, Verstappen responded: “Perhaps the team is working on it, but that’s a question for them.
“On Friday, my primary focus is on improving the car, so I don’t dwell on such matters. It’s simply not my problem.”
