Red Bull have confirmed the existence of a clause in the new Concorde Agreement which allows the team to leave Formula One at the end of any season, despite them committing to the sport until 2025.
“We can cancel the contract annually. There is a clause in it [the Concorde Agreement] that allows you to leave at the end of each year, but that is not our priority,” Helmut Marko, the head of Red Bull’s driver development programme, said in a recent interview.

“We are now figuring things out, and once we have the facts on the table, [Dietrich] Mateschitz and I will make a decision. Our plan is to have clarity before the end of the year.”
Earlier, Helmut Marko revealed that he and Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz had been aware of Honda’s decision to leave F1 long before it was announced last week.
With Mercedes unlikely to be willing to supply its closest rival, Red Bull seemingly have few options and could be forced into a reunion with Renault.
