Both Mercedes drivers did their final Q3 run on a set of medium-compound tyres instead of the softs, as they struggled to keep the latter in their operating window.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen qualified P3, ahead of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and the Racing Point of Sergio Perez.

Alex Albon, Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris, Pierre Gasly and Daniel Ricciardo round out the top ten.

The Renault driver didn’t run in Q3, as he damaged the rear wing of his car at the very end of the previous session and his team failed to get it repaired in time.
