With no agreement having been reached between Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes over the seven-time world champion’s future with the team, questions have emerged over where he will be next season.
Hamilton’s contract with Mercedes expires at the completion of the 2023 season, but the Brit appears to be keen to remain at the Constructor which has delivered six of his world titles.
While some believe he might move to a rival, such as Ferrari, others feel that Hamilton might believe his career has run its course and it’s time to leave the sport.
Hamilton and Mercedes have been keen to stress that he is still committed to the team and the contract renewal is merely a formality, with the former world champion stating “I feel amazing” about the partnership.

“I continue to feel very much at home. It’s family,” Hamilton told reporters.
“I see myself being with Mercedes till my last days, to be honest.
“If you look at the legends, Sir Stirling Moss was with Mercedes till the end of days.
“So, that’s been the dream for me to one day have that… well I have that, so I mean just continue on with that and continue to build with the brand.”

Moss continued to be associated with the Silver Arrows until his death after the Briton’s notable 1955 Mille Miglia success aboard a Mercedes 300 SLR.
It’s not clear what the reason for the delay in Hamilton re-signing with the team is, although some have speculated it’s due to a debate over his salary.
Others believe that Hamilton might be looking to move to a new team in pursuit of a record-breaking eighth world title.
