Kimi Raikkonen’s son leaves fans in tears

Kimi Raikkonen's son has started to claim podiums in karting.

As well as being a quick racing driver like his father, Robin Ace Raikkonen also appears to have developed a similar comical approach to answering questions from the media, which was a trait that saw Kimi Raikkonen become a fan favourite.

Kimi’s son was competing recently at the Sette Laghi Kart International Circuit in Italy, where he claimed his second-ever P3.

Raikkonen’s wife, Minttu, shared an Instagram story which showed just how similar Robin is to the 2007 World Champion, especially when it comes to talking to journalists.

Kimi became famous for his often blunt and one-worded replies to questions, a trait Robin has developed.

Raikkonen’s son was asked how he felt to claim what the reporter thought was his first third-place finish, before the ex-Ferrari driver quickly corrected him and stated: “Second,” as reported by GPFans.com.

Robin did eventually answer a question in true Kimi fashion, when asked if the track was difficult in any places.

“Yeah,” answered Robin, before the reporter tried to get a few more words out of the young driver; albeit, unsuccessfully.

“It’s easier or stronger to drive?” asked the reporter.

“Easier,” Kimi’s son replied.

Robin went on to further sound exactly like his father, when asked: “Next time which place will you remain [finish]?”

Robin comically answered the question by stating: “I don’t know.”

It really does appear to be a case of like father, like son, with Robin being a quick driver and a quick interviewee!

Kimi often gave very short answers throughout his career, whilst he was also known to snap at times.

One of his most famous moments came at the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, when he shouted over the radio several times for his gloves and steering wheel.

Another famous Kimi moment occurred at the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix, when the Finn retired from the race in the tunnel.

Instead of returning to the McLaren garage, he went straight to his yacht, where he was seen chilling with friends during the latter stages of the iconic race.

Should Robin progress all the way to F1, then perhaps he’ll replicate some of his father’s famous moments.
