Jeremy Clarkson keeps his promise to F1 team employees

Jeremy Clarkson promised everyone at Alpine beer if Esteban Ocon finished on the podium at the Monaco GP.

Ex-Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has successfully kept his promise to Alpine, after taking a trailer full of his beer to the team’s base in Enstone.

During the recent Monaco Grand Prix, Clarkson took to Twitter to promise everyone at the French side a beer, if Esteban Ocon finished on the podium.

“Come on @AlpineF1Team I’ll buy you all a pint if you get a podium here,” Clarkson wrote on Twitter during the Monaco GP.

Ocon, of course, did hold on to third at the Circuit de Monaco, to clinch the team’s first rostrum since Fernando Alonso finished on the podium at the 2021 Qatar Grand Prix.

It also marked Ocon’s third podium at the pinnacle of motorsport, following what was an impressive display by the Frenchman.

Since the team recently returned from the Spanish Grand Prix, Clarkson paid the side a visit in one of his tractor’s, from Amazon TV series ‘Clarkson’s farm’.

Clarkson drove his tractor a relatively short distance from his farm to Alpine’s base, whilst towing a trailer full of beer.

Alpine took to social media to show that Clarkson kept his promise, with the presenter having been seen chatting to the likes of Ocon and team principal Otmar Szafnauer.

Alpine posted photos from Clarkson’s visit to Enstone on Twitter, along with the caption: “Delivering on his word. Cheers for the beers, @JeremyClarkson.”

Alpine are certainly growing in strength, following a disappointing start to the season.

Recent negative comments from Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi have seemingly kicked the team into gear, given that they’ve enjoyed a run of good results since his questionable comments.

Ahead of this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, Alpine find themselves fifth in the Constructors’ Championship; albeit, 60 points behind Ferrari in fourth.

Should Alpine continue to progress though, then getting amongst the top-four could be a possibility, especially if the Italians continue to falter.

Ocon and Pierre Gasly have both been delivering some positive results for the team over recent races, with the duo having both finished in the top 10 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Ocon finished eighth with Gasly in P10, although, the latter would’ve likely finished higher if he hadn’t been slapped with a six-place grid penalty.
