Claire Williams makes shock return to Williams

Claire Williams departed Williams in 2020 when the team was taken over by Dorilton Capital.

Williams Racing are one of the most successful teams in Formula 1 history, joining the grid in 1977 and dominating in the 1990s in particular.

Daughter of the team’s founder Frank Williams, Claire Williams, served as the team’s deputy team principal until 2020, when she decided to step away for the good of the team.

Williams were struggling to get away from the foot of the championship table and were financially unable to compete with the rest of the grid.

American company Dorilton Capital completed a full takeover of the team, in 2020, taking the team away from its family ownership for the first time and seeing Claire Williams leave the team.
