Charles Leclerc makes big claim about Ferrari catching Red Bull

Charles Leclerc remains optimistic about Ferrari’s prospects, asserting that it’s only “a matter of time” before they catch up to the leading Red Bull team.

Despite not overtaking Red Bull at the season’s start, Ferrari has shown significant improvement, with Carlos Sainz securing a podium in Bahrain and Leclerc finishing third in Saudi Arabia.

This performance indicates a stronger start for Ferrari compared to the previous year, bolstering the team’s hopes of narrowing the gap with their rivals.

Leclerc, reflecting on the progress, stated, “If I look back over the last six, seven months, we are the team that has improved the most and we are slowly closing the gap.”

However, Leclerc is tempering expectations for immediate advances, especially at the upcoming race in Australia, due to the absence of new updates to their car.

“I don’t think we’ll have many things new in Melbourne,” he admitted, highlighting the importance of maximizing their current package.

“Ferrari’s strategy involves incremental improvements, focusing on areas that can yield even slight time advantages on the track.

“Three or four tenths is a lot in the world of motorsport,” Leclerc emphasized, underlining the cumulative impact of minor enhancements.
