Senior Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko has said that he believes the Milton Keynes-based team have the best car and driver (in Max Verstappen) this year.
The Dutch ace currently leads the Drivers’ Standings by 32 points over fellow Championship challenger Sir Lewis Hamilton, while Red Bull lead the Constructors’ Championship from Mercedes.

Speaking after Verstappen won the Austrian Grand Prix to extend his lead at the top of the standings, Dr Marko was clearly pleased with how the last few races have gone.
“Three races, 76 points. That’s what I call a haul,” the Austrian said.
“We have the fastest driver, the best car and the best engine.”
Continuing, Dr Marko indicated that Red Bull are focused on winning the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships this year instead of shifting all of their research and development resources to 2022, when sweeping regulation changes will come into effect.
“We’re sticking to our schedule, even if Mercedes tries to convince us that we’ll be two seconds behind next year,” he said.

Despite Dr Marko agreeing that Red Bull have the upper hand against Mercedes this year, he is wary of how quickly things can change in Formula 1.
“We can see from McLaren how quickly it can happen. They were a strong opponent today,” the senior Red Bull advisor noted.
“It just needs different tyre compounds or different conditions and it can turn.
“But if we beat Mercedes at Silverstone, it looks very good for us.”
