Will Mick Schumacher Make His F1 Debut At Abu Dhabi GP?

Mick Schumacher is poised to join the F1 grid in 2021, but he could potentially race at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

It was announced this week that Mick Schumacher will be driving for the Haas F1 Team alongside Nikita Mazepin in 2021.

But, with Romain Grosjean suffering a fiery crash last weekend and missing the Sakhir GP due to the injuries he sustained, it has been speculated that Schumacher could make his F1 debut at this year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Pietro Fittipaldi was picked to replace Grosjean for the Sakhir GP, but it would make sense for Haas to give Schumacher the drive for the season finale if the Frenchman is still unable to race.

When asked if this is looking likely, Haas team principal Guenther Steiner said his priority is giving Grosjean a proper final race with the team.

“I want Romain to come back so I’m not thinking of anything else. I think he can end his time with us at that race, that’s what I’ve talked about with him and I want him to end on a high note,” Steiner said.

“We won’t decide otherwise until someone tells us that he cannot race,” he added.

For his part, Grosjean has said he is keen to compete in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as he doesn’t want his last memory of his Formula One career to be the horror crash he had a week ago.
