Last month, Vettel was publicly offered a seat at a team which competes in the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Commenting on his future, Vettel said he has “no news” to report but reiterated that he wants to stay in F1 to compete for wins and Championships, not just to make up the numbers.

“I don’t have much interest to sign up for a team that is not going to be in a position to fight for something worth fighting for, [and] is going in a good direction in the future,” the four-time World Champion said.

Continuing, Vettel noted that the shake-up of the Formula One’s technical regulations in 2022 could “change a lot of things” with regards to which team has the strongest package.

“I think we will have to wait and see. I’ll let you know as soon as I have some news,” he added.

When asked if he would consider a senior role at a Formula One team once he retires from racing, Vettel said it would depend on the exact position and the challenge it presents.
