Max Verstappen heads into the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix with zero penalty points on his record after his remaining points expired on June 1.
The four-time world champion had been in hot water just a year ago at the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix, where he received three penalty points for intentionally crashing into George Russell.
That incident took his total to 11 penalty points, leaving him just one point away from an automatic race ban.
Since that controversy in Barcelona, Verstappen managed to avoid any further incidents that would have added to his penalty points tally.
All of the penalty points he had accumulated during 2024 had already expired heading into this season, leaving only those three points from Spain remaining.
With penalty points automatically expiring 12 months after they are issued, Verstappen’s final three points were wiped from his record on June 1, 2026.
He now joins George Russell, Fernando Alonso, Isack Hadjar, Nico Hulkenberg, Lando Norris, Arvid Lindblad, Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez on a clean slate of zero penalty points.
At the other end of the standings, Haas driver Ollie Bearman currently leads the penalty points table with eight points to his name.
Lance Stroll and Kimi Antonelli both sit on five points each, while Oscar Piastri has accumulated four points so far this season.
Lewis Hamilton, Alex Albon, Liam Lawson, Carlos Sainz, Gabriel Bortoleto and Pierre Gasly all carry between two and three penalty points heading into the Monaco weekend.
The Monaco Grand Prix takes place on the iconic streets of Monte-Carlo on Sunday, June 7, with lights out scheduled for 15:00 local time and 14:00 UK time.
