Valtteri Bottas Takes Pole For Eifel GP, Leclerc Qualifies Fourth

The Silver Arrows have locked out the front row of the grid, with Verstappen just behind them in P3.

Valtteri Bottas has taken pole position for the Eifel Grand Prix, beating Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton by over two-tenths of a second.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen qualified third, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc put in a very strong performance to qualify in P4.

The Dutch ace described it as a “decent” qualifying session but complained of his RB16 having understeer in Q3.

Meanwhile, Alex Albon will start fifth on the grid, ahead of Renault drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon.

Lando Norris, Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz round out the top ten.

Sebastian Vettel failed to make it into Q3 and will start the race 11th on the grid, with free tyre choice.

Nico Hulkenberg qualified last for the race on his surprise return to Formula One, so he’ll be hoping to make his way up the order on Sunday.
