Valtteri Bottas can’t resist Mercedes

Finnish F1 driver Valtteri Bottas has shared his excitement after the arrival of the Formula 1-inspired supercar.

Valtteri Bottas has taken to social media to share his excitement after taking delivery of the Mercedes-AMG ONE Hypercar

Limited to fewer than 300 models, the Mercedes-AMG ONE was first delivered in January 2023.

The iconic design features a black exterior with blue accents and distinctive gray stars adorning the doors and rear fenders.

The hypercar’s engine and four electric motors are sourced from Brixworth, while the final assembly takes place in Coventry, the spiritual home of Jaguar Cars.

As a plug-in hybrid, the ONE incorporates two front-mounted electric motors, an MGU-H, an MGU-K, and a 1.6-liter V6 engine.

Unlike the typical dual-clutch transmission, it utilizes a 7-speed automatic manual gearbox. The 8.4-kWh battery provides a modest electric driving range of approximately 18.1 kilometres (11 miles).

The ONE boasts Formula 1-inspired elements, with its 1.6-liter V6 engine being instrumental in Mercedes’ dominant performance during the turbo hybrid era from 2014 to 2021.

Mercedes’ foray into the turbo hybrid era began in 2014 with the W05 car driven by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

During the season, the W05 secured an impressive 16 out of 19 race wins. Valtteri Bottas joined the Formula 1 grid with Williams, a team that adopted Mercedes power in 2014.

Bottas achieved his first Formula 1 victory at the Russian Grand Prix in 2017 with Mercedes-AMG Petronas, and his final win to date came at the Turkish Grand Prix in 2021.

Notably, Bottas’ most successful season saw him secure four wins in 2019 with the Mercedes F1 team based in the UK.

Despite its limited electric range, the Mercedes-AMG ONE is a true powerhouse. With a maximum system output of 1,063 ps (1,049 hp), the hypercar delivers astonishing performance.

Although the maximum torque figure is not disclosed due to the complexity of its drivetrain, the ONE is electronically limited to a top speed of 352 kilometres per hour (219 miles per hour) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour (62 miles per hour) in just 2.9 seconds.

However, the most noteworthy achievement for the Mercedes-AMG ONE is its impressive lap time of 6:30.705 at the Nurburgring, set by driver Maro Engel.

This lap time surpasses the Manthey Racing-modified 991.2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS
