Lance Stroll’s RP20 will be Racing Point’s only car which is running its upgraded package at this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix.
The team only had one set of the upgrades ready in time for the Tuscan Grand Prix a fortnight ago, which it opted to run on Stroll’s car.

Sergio Perez was set to have the upgrades on his car this weekend, but Stroll’s high-speed crash at Mugello totalled his car and has resulted in the Canadian now running the set of upgrades that were destined for Perez’s RP20, leaving the Mexican with the old-spec package at Sochi.
The new package consists of a raft of upgrades, including a new floor, new brake ducts and shrink-wrapped sidepods.
There’s around a 0.25 second per lap difference between the old package and the new one, according to estimates.
Earlier this month, Perez, who is currently without an F1 seat for 2021, said the upgrades “looked good” on Stroll’s car and will help Racing Point close the gap to Red Bull.
