Several Teams Expecting Wet Belgian Grand Prix

There is currently a 48 percent chance it will rain on Sunday.

Several Formula 1 teams are expecting it to rain at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on race day, according to F1 pundit Karun Chandok.

The ex-Formula 1 driver made the comment during Free Practice 1 on Friday morning, as drivers utilised this opportunity to tweak and optimise their setups.

There is a 48 percent chance it will rain during the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday, according to weather forecasts for the area.

Many teams, such as Mercedes and Red Bull, are running low-downforce setups on their cars as they look to maximise their straight-line speed in sectors one and three of the circuit.

Ahead of the race weekend, Williams driver George Russell said he expects the team to struggle at Spa as their car is very “draggy”.

The other Mercedes-powered teams, namely the Mercedes works team and Racing Point, are set to have a very strong weekend in Belgium.
