Sebastian Vettel’s last couple of years with Ferrari have been littered with mistakes, but the four-time World Champion will be looking to put all of that behind him when he joins Aston Martin Racing in just a few months’ time.
Otmar Szafnauer, team principal of the soon-to-be-rebranded Racing Point F1 team, believes Vettel will “flourish” at Aston Martin Racing.

In particular, Szafnauer said he believes Vettel will benefit from racing with a team that doesn’t have a blame culture like Ferrari’s.
“In our team, we all pull in the same direction and have a good working atmosphere – a culture in which we don’t blame anyone for making a mistake,” Szafnauer said in an interview with Sport1.
“Seb will like that and I’m sure he will flourish,” he added.
Continuing, Szafnauer suggested that Ferrari is at least partly responsible for Vettel’s dip in form.
“I do not believe that a 33-year-old driver forgets how to drive a Formula 1 car overnight.
“It has to be something else. We will help him to regain the qualities that made him a champion.
“In turn, he will give us the direction in which we have to develop the team and the car. What does a top team like Ferrari and Red Bull do differently to us?
“That will help us to take the next step,” Szafnauer concluded.
With six races of the 2020 Formula One season to go, Sebastian Vettel currently sits 13th in the Drivers’ Standings, with 17 points.
Meanwhile, Ferrari are just sixth in the Constructors’ Standings, only 13 points ahead of Scuderia AlphaTauri.
