The Turkish Grand Prix was Ferrari’s best race of 2020 so far, with Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc finishing P3 and P4, respectively.

Unsurprisingly, this prompted many F1 fans to take to social media to joke that Ferrari’s improved form, especially on Vettel’s side of the garage, was due to Binotto’s absence.
And in a post-race interview, even Sebastian Vettel jokingly suggested that there was a link between the two.
“I think we scored probably the most points this year for us and Mattia [Binotto] wasn’t here. If next race we don’t score as many points, maybe we try again to leave him at home,” Vettel joked.
Earlier this month, Binotto revealed that he would stop attending most races to focus his efforts on coordinating the development of Ferrari’s chassis and power unit from Maranello.
