Sebastian Buemi is poised to become Red Bull Racing’s reserve driver, with Sergio Sette Camara looking to focus his efforts on Japan’s Super Formula series.
Camara, Red Bull’s existing reserve driver, has attended every grand prix this season, ready to fill in for Max Verstappen or Alex Albon should either be unable to compete for any reason.

He initially planned to serve as Red Bull’s reserve driver throughout 2020 while also competing in the Super Formula series, but the opening rounds were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
And now, due to him having to quarantine when he travels abroad, Camara has decided to stay in Japan and focus entirely on the Super Formula series.
This has paved the way for Sebastian Buemi to return to Red Bull, with the Swiss driver now set to replace Camara as the Milton Keynes-based team’s reserve driver.
