Former Haas F1 Team title sponsor Rich Energy has claimed it will have “major news” next week.

The energy drink brand made the claim in a tweet posted on Friday, around a month after it announced it will be making a return to Formula 1 this year.

Specifically, in early January, Rich Energy founder William Storey claimed that the company will be returning to the pinnacle of motorsport:

“F1 incoming. The best energy drink in the world mounting the greatest comeback since Lazarus. Premium British performance,” Storey wrote in a tweet.

Formula1News.co.uk subsequently reached out to a number of teams across the F1 grid considered most likely – albeit still highly unlikely – to be willing to work with Rich Energy given their reputation in the sport.

The Williams F1 Team denied holding any discussions with Rich Energy about a sponsorship deal or a partnership in another capacity.

Williams told Formula1News.co.uk that they “have had no communication with Rich Energy at all and are not in any discussion regarding a potential sponsorship.”

Meanwhile, another F1 team which didn’t want to be named also said it has no plans to enter into a sponsorship deal with the company.

The Haas F1 Team didn’t respond to a request for comment on the matter.

Storey initially agreed to an interview with Formula1News.co.uk but later became unresponsive.
