Formula 1 drivers have a tendency to rack up quite the car collection over the course of their careers, with Bugattis, Maseratis, Ferraris and Aston Martins becoming a common sight on race weekends.
Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz has been one of the more modest drivers over recent seasons, with the Spaniard revealing that during his time with Toro Rosso, where he partnered a young Max Verstappen, that he still drove a Volkswagen Golf GTI to race weekends.
Since then, Sainz’s life on and off the track has got a lot more glamorous, as moves to Renault, McLaren and Ferrari followed for the Spaniard, coming with an increasingly valuable car collection.
Sainz spent two seasons with Mclaren, where he built up a strong relationship with Lando Norris and nearly won the first race of his career in Monza, before being narrowly beaten by the AlphaTauri of Pierre Gasly.

Two McLarens became the beginning of Sainz’s supercar collection during his time with the team, as the Spaniard treated himself to a McLaren 720S and a 600T Spider, worth $300,000 and $250,000 respectively.
A move to Ferrari then followed for Sainz, where the 28-year-old would begin a partnership with Charles Leclerc and finally pick up the first win of his career at Silverstone earlier this year.
As part of his move to the Scuderia, Sainz added a $250,000 Ferrari Grand Tourer to his growing car collection, seeing his supercar total grow to three, alongside the VW Golf.
The most recent addition to the Spaniard’s car collection is possible the best yet, as it blows the cost of his previous additions out of the water at an eye watering $600,000.
The car in question is a Ferrari 812 Competizione, which has been fully customised by Sainz after he revealed on his YouTube channel that it was the car of his dreams.

With a reported net worth of around $47 million, the collection of four supercars will not have put too much of a dent in the bank account of the Spaniard, making it highly likely that Sainz will be adding to his collection in the future.
Excluding his beloved VW Golf, which was an 18th birthday present from Sainz’s parents, it would cost approximately $1.4 million to replicate the Ferrari driver’s prestigious car collection.
Charles Leclerc’s car collection reportedly costs a stunning $7 million, meaning that the longer the pair are together at Ferrari, the more likely it is that Sainz’s collection will grow even more impressive.
