Alpine’s Pierre Gasly has revealed his desire to take on a new challenge within the French team—competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans during the mid-season break.
Alpine is set to enter the Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship from 2024, making Gasly’s dream of participating in the world-famous endurance race a distinct possibility.
Having long held aspirations to race at Le Mans, Gasly emphasised that his primary focus remains on Formula 1 for the foreseeable future.
However, Gasly sees Le Mans as an iconic race that could be a one-off endeavour to add variety to his racing calendar.

“I’m definitely going to look at doing Le Mans in the future,” Gasly stated.
However, while keen to try his hand at racing around Le Mans, Gasly stipulated that he would only do so if Alpine had a realistic shot at winning.
“The only condition I would have is that I want to do it to win it,” Gasly asserted.
“I want to be sure that if I do this one-off competition right in the middle of my F1 season, it will be to really fight for the win, otherwise it doesn’t make sense just to settle for a top five or even a podium.”
With the upcoming entry of Alpine into the Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship, Gasly’s dream of racing at Le Mans with the French manufacturer appears to be a genuine possibility.
