The 2026 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix takes place this weekend, with three days of competitive action around the iconic streets of the principality.
Monaco falls later in the calendar this season, meaning the weather conditions could differ slightly from the traditional May slot that fans are used to.
This is the sixth round of the 2026 championship, and Kimi Antonelli arrives in Monte Carlo carrying significant momentum after an impressive run of results.
Antonelli currently holds a 43-point lead at the top of the drivers’ championship, having claimed four consecutive grand prix victories in China, Japan, Miami, and Canada.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is the bookmakers’ favourite heading into the weekend, with teammate Lewis Hamilton also considered a strong contender by the odds-makers.
Ferrari’s strength in low-speed corners is expected to suit the narrow, winding Monaco circuit, where that technical advantage becomes especially pronounced.
Friday’s two practice sessions, FP1 and FP2, are expected to be largely dry, with only a 13 per cent chance of rain during the 1:30pm local time start for FP1.
Temperatures will sit at a pleasant 23 degrees Celsius during FP1, with a moderate breeze of around 8mph present throughout the afternoon session.
FP2, beginning at 5pm local time, carries a slightly higher 18 per cent chance of rain, with temperatures dipping marginally to 22 degrees Celsius and more cloud expected.
Saturday’s FP3 session, starting at 12:30pm local time, will enjoy completely dry and sunny conditions, with a zero per cent chance of precipitation forecast for the entire day.
Temperatures during FP3 will reach 23 degrees Celsius, though the real feel will climb to 27 degrees, with humidity sitting at around 65 per cent throughout.
Qualifying at 4pm local time on Saturday will mirror those conditions, with dry and sunny skies expected and temperatures again hovering around 23 degrees Celsius.
Monaco qualifying remains one of the most crucial sessions on the entire Formula 1 calendar, with track position often decisive given the difficulty of overtaking on the circuit.
Race day on Sunday, June 7, will deliver the warmest conditions of the weekend, with 24 degrees Celsius forecast at lights out at 3pm local time.
Temperatures are expected to climb to 25 degrees Celsius as the race enters its second hour, feeling closer to 29 degrees under the relentless sunshine.
There is absolutely zero per cent chance of rain throughout Sunday’s race, and wind speeds will ease slightly to around six mph compared to the previous two days.
