Mercedes hilariously troll Ferrari during car launch live stream

Ferrari unveiled the SF-23 on Valentine’s Day, showcasing the car’s first official outing.

Ferrari’s car launch may have been the best one yet, as the team went above and beyond in their reveal of the SF-23.

While many teams have given a presentation before showing off footage of the car or pulling a cover off of it, Ferrari treated their fans to seeing the SF-23 out on track for the very first time.

Most teams will take part in a shake-down before travelling to Bahrain and Ferrari incorporated this into their launch by giving Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz a couple of laps each out on track to show off the car.

While the launch exceeded expectations and way enjoyed by fans of all teams, Mercedes could not help themselves from trolling the Scuderia during the livestream.

The comment section of the livestream was filled with Ferrari fans praising the design and livery of the SF-23, but some eagle eyed fans spotted a comment from the official Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team account.

“W14 launches tomorrow,” commented the account, making a humorous attempt to steal some of Ferrari’s thunder during their launch.

The W14 was unveiled in the early hours of Wednesday morning, not giving Ferrari much time in the spotlight before it was stolen by the Silver Arrows.

The team have returned to a black livery for this season after a year in silver, something which Lewis Hamilton has revealed was done to make a statement back in 2020.

Ferrari struggled with reliability last year but not only have the Scuderia reportedly solved these issues, they are rumoured to have shaven an astonishing second worth of time off of their laptimes from last year’s car.

Mercedes on the other hand have a much bigger deficit to overcome, having only won a single race over the course of the 2022 season, having struggled to get to grips under the new regulations.

Everyone surrounding the team have expressed their confidence in getting back to winning ways this year, having ended 2022 on a high after upgrading the W13.
