Max Verstappen Sets The Pace In FP2 Ahead Of Lando Norris

Red Bull looked strong in pre-season testing and have topped the first two practice sessions ahead of the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix.

Red Bull ace Max Verstappen has continued his strong preparations for the 2021 season-opener, with him topping Free Practice Two (FP2) after setting the fastest lap in the earlier session on Friday.

Lando Norris, who set the third-best time in FP1, was second in the evening session, ahead of the Mercedes of Sir Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari.

Valtteri Bottas put in a lap good enough for P5, with Daniel Ricciardo in sixth and Yuki Tsunoda in seventh.

Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly and Sergio Perez ended the session in P8, P9, and P10, respectively, with the Mexican’s quickest lap over six-tenths of a second off of Verstappen’s pace-setting lap.

Charles Leclerc’s fastest effort was half-a-second slower than Sainz’s quickest lap, and the Monegasque ended the session down in P12.

Kimi Raikkonen’s FP2 was compromised, with the veteran F1 driver having a spin out of turn two and hitting both the front and rear of his Alfa Romeo on the barrier.
