Max Verstappen leaves Sergio Perez and the crowd speechless with cheeky comment

Red Bull go into the Mexican Grand Prix with both championships already sealed.

It turns out that Max Verstappen has a funny side to him that people didn’t really know about, given his usual serious nature during a Grand Prix weekend.

The Dutchman has been absolutely dominant in 2022 and wrapped up his second consecutive Drivers’ Championship with ease at the Japanese Grand Prix, perhaps allowing him to lower his guard.

Red Bull even sealed their first Constructors’ Championship since 2013 last weekend at the United States Grand Prix, after Verstappen claimed his 13th win of the season and Sergio Pérez finished fourth.

It means that the team are simply fighting for wins in the remaining three races, which could perhaps see them favouring Pérez.

The Mexican is just two points behind Charles Leclerc in the Drivers’ Championship, meaning the Austrians are on the verge of claiming their first-ever one-two in the championship, something that would truly confirm their 2022 superiority.

Pérez has undoubtedly re-found his form in the latter stages of the season, following a difficult mid-season.

The Mexican has finished first, second, and fourth, at the last three races, something which has enabled him to challenge Leclerc for third.

If Red Bull truly want to claim first and second in the Drivers’ Championship, then they will prioritise Pérez rather than Verstappen, especially this weekend in Mexico.

Should Pérez win his home race, then it’d likely result in the greatest celebrations ever seen in the sport, given how impressive the Mexican crowd has been over recent years.

Pérez certainly has the form for victory this weekend, it just remains to be seen how Red Bull will playout the weekend.

Verstappen and Pérez have been on media duties ahead of the weekend, where the duo was asked an interesting question by the hosts.

It’s safe to say, no one could’ve predicted Verstappen’s answer!

“What is the most special moment the two of you have had as team-mates?” asked the co-host, resulting in cheers from the crowd

“What is the most emotive moment you’ve had?” added the other host.

“Last week when we had that shower together it was pretty emotional,” joked Verstappen, resulting in laughter from Pérez and the audience, before an awkward silence broke out.

“There have been better moments than that,” said Pérez.

“I’ll leave it up to Checo to answer,” continued the Dutchman.

“It was a hot shower,” Verstappen hilariously added.

“Thank god,” wrapped up one of the hosts.
