Live: Formula One Returns To Imola For The Emilia Romagna GP

Formula One returned to Imola for the first time in 14 years.

The two Silver Arrows locked out the front row in qualifying, with Valtteri Bottas starting on pole position ahead of Lewis Hamilton.

Max Verstappen was once again best of the rest and managed to qualify in P3, just in front of Pierre Gasly, who put in an exceptional performance on Saturday.

The race got underway at 1:10PM (GMT).

Bottas maintained his lead into turn one, while Hamilton lost a place to Verstappen.

Gasly had to retire his car on lap 9 after his team called him in to the pits due to a “terminal issue” with his AlphaTauri.

Esteban Ocon retired his Renault on-track on lap 29 of the race.

Hamilton took the lead of the grand prix after pitting under virtual safety car conditions.

Verstappen subsequently overtook Bottas on lap 43 after he made a mistake in the final sector.

The safety car was deployed on lap 52 after Max Verstappen retired on-track with a mechanical issue.

Hamilton led home a Mercedes 1-2, ahead of Ricciardo in P3.
