Sir Lewis Hamilton has said he is not giving “any energy” or thought to the risk of him having to use another fresh engine this season.
Mercedes put a new internal combustion engine (ICE) in the seven-time World Champion’s car ahead of the Turkish Grand Prix, resulting in him taking a 10-place grid drop.

After qualifying fastest on Saturday, Hamilton started the race in P11 and recovered up to fifth.
This allowed Max Verstappen, his Championship rival, to retake his position at the top of the Drivers’ Standings after finishing the Turkish GP in P2.
Speaking after the race, Hamilton said he wasn’t thinking about the risk of him getting another engine penalty this year, saying “it’s not my job to worry about that stuff.”
“I don’t really give any energy to it,” Hamilton said in Istanbul.
“It’s not my job to worry about that stuff, so I let the guys focus on that, worry about it.
“My engine is in good condition. My first engine, I think, did six races. We still have engine two, and I think engine three is still there.
“As far as I’m aware, hopefully I don’t have to [use a fifth engine], but I can’t predict what’s up ahead,” he added.
Verstappen took a grid drop in the prior race in Russia, after Red Bull opted to run a brand-new power unit.
The Dutchman has a six-point lead over Hamilton at the summit of the Drivers’ Standings heading to Texas.
