Lewis Hamilton affected by Nico Rosberg curse

Lewis Hamilton failed to convert pole position into victory at the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix.

Nico Rosberg appeared to jinx former team-mate Lewis Hamilton ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, after taking a photo in front of his garage.

Hamilton started on pole at the Hungaroring but tumbled to fourth by the time they exited the first corner, a position he went on to finish in.

Hamilton made an initial good launch, but Max Verstappen pulled alongside him on the inside line down to the opening corner.

Verstappen forced Hamilton wide which allowed both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri through, much to the seven-time World Champion’s disappointment.

Hamilton later fell to fifth behind Sergio Perez; however, he was able to overtake Piastri during his final stint to snatch fourth back.

He came incredibly close to catching Perez for the final spot on the podium, but Hamilton simply ran out of laps to try and find a way past the Mexican driver.

Red Bull and McLaren were simply too strong for Hamilton and Mercedes, with the Silver Arrows having been third in the pecking order on Sunday.

Hamilton had been hopeful ahead of the race that he’d be able to convert his 104th pole position into his 104th victory; however, it wasn’t to be.

It appears that he has Rosberg to blame for his non-podium finish, with the German having jinxed Hamilton.

Bizarrely, whichever car Rosberg often takes a photo in front of ends up suffering from bad luck, something which also happened on Saturday.

Rosberg posted a photo on Instagram of himself with Max Verstappen’s RB19, ahead of the Dutchman failing to claim pole position.

Perhaps if Rosberg hadn’t taken a photo with Hamilton’s car, the 38-year-old might’ve had a more successful Sunday afternoon.

When Rosberg posted the photo ahead of the race, Hamilton fans instantly knew that they were doomed.

“Oh no, poor Lewis got cursed now,” said thegloryaroundus on Instagram.

“Alright Lewis gonna DNF now,” commented polmat16racing.

Another fan, f1penalty said: “Bro why are you doing this to him…”

“So you cursed him thank you,” sarcastically commented antoniopapaak44, in what was a general comment amongst several fans.
