Lando Norris was seen sporting a bandaged face after sustaining an injury during his leisure time in Amsterdam.

The British racer, on a break in the Dutch capital, encountered the mishap just ahead of the upcoming Miami Grand Prix.

Norris reportedly ventured to Amsterdam to partake in Koningsdag (King’s Day) festivities, where he incurred a facial laceration believed to be caused by broken glass while reveling on a boat.

Despite the conspicuous injury, Norris is anticipated to compete in the Miami Grand Prix, commencing on Friday.

His entrance into the trio of races in the United States follows a commendable start to the 2024 Formula One season.

Presently occupying the fifth spot in the Drivers’ Standings, Norris has clinched two podium finishes in the initial five races.

His recent achievement includes a second-place finish at the Chinese GP, with his aspiration for the ongoing season set on securing a race victory of his own.

Expressing his ambitions, Norris remarked, “I believe I can achieve a championship at McLaren, that’s why I signed another contract.

“I absolutely think I can go up against Max and give him a good challenge.”

He acknowledged the formidable prowess of Max Verstappen, emphasizing the arduousness of competing against him for the championship.

Addressing the prospect of facing Verstappen directly, Norris asserted, “I am not afraid in any way of Max, I’m excited to be against Max.

“People rate him as up with the best, so I would like to prove myself by going up against that.”

He articulated his eagerness for genuine competition on the track, aiming to demonstrate his racing prowess by engaging in positional battles rather than conceding to Verstappen’s superior speed.
