So, it’s unsurprising that some F1 fans were delighted to see Mazepin struggle in his debut race weekend in the pinnacle of motorsport.
The 22-year-old finished FP1 and FP2 bottom of the time sheet in P20, and he had an incident in the evening session and swiftly got on the radio to say he wasn’t happy with the balance of his Haas.
A number of F1 fans quickly took to social media to express their joy with his debut race weekend not going well thus far.

Mazepin’s team-mate, 2020 Formula Two Champion Mick Schumacher, finished FP1 in P19 – one place ahead of the Russian – and managed a lap good enough for P18 in FP2.
The Haas F1 Team has already said it will be focusing its development resources on its 2022 car, so it will be very difficult for Mazepin and Schumacher to score points this year.
