Two drivers from the GT4 European Series have been barred from further participation at Monza following a violent altercation with circuit security staff.
French brothers Hugo and Thibaut Mogica, competing for team CMR, became involved in a physical fight with security personnel at the Monza paddock entrance.
Official documents confirmed the dispute began over a parking pass, a seemingly minor disagreement that quickly spiralled out of control.
The Mogica brothers initially ignored a signal to stop from security, and the situation then escalated into a full brawl involving the drivers, their guests, and track security.
Security staff were eventually forced to deploy pepper spray in order to regain control of the increasingly dangerous situation.
Race officials responded swiftly, suspending both drivers from the second race of the weekend and banning them from all restricted areas at the event.
A formal hearing into the incident was held, during which both drivers admitted to inappropriate behaviour towards the circuit’s security team.
The stewards’ ruling was unambiguous, stating: “The conduct of the drivers in car 51 is unacceptable and undermines the integrity of motorsport, constituting a serious violation of the Safety and behaviour standards required of all participants.”
Beyond the immediate suspension, the brothers were handed a provisional fine of €5,000, which will be enforced should a similar incident occur during the remainder of the season.
The penalties effectively ended the Mogicas’ involvement in the Monza race weekend entirely, marking a dramatic conclusion to their participation at the Italian circuit.
