Brad Pitt might have developed a friendship with Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton but the film star’s recent appearance in the team’s garage left the former world champion’s teammate feeling starstruck.
Pitt was spotted alongside the Silver Arrows team at the 2022 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, with George Russell recently revealing his encounter with the international superstar.
“Starstruck maybe is pushing it a little bit,” Russell said.
“But the first time I ever saw Brad Pitt I wanted to act quite cool so I didn’t want to take a photo with him as everyone else was.

“So I pretended to be on the phone and sort of took the photo on the side of my phone.
“I’ve still got it on my phone now and I wanted to show him Austin because we had a chat but it slipped my mind so next time.”
Pitt is currently working on a film about Formula 1 with Hamilton, which is due to begin filming scenes at race weekends during the summer
The storyline will follow Pitt, a veteran driver, as he comes out of retirement to mentor a young driver but not much else is known beyond that.

Personally, Pitt will be on track himself, according to media reports, at the British Grand Prix, where those in attendance will be able to see him behind the wheel, as producers capture a scene for the upcoming film.
While supportive of the production, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has admitted that it has been a challenge to organise filming at Formula 1 circuits that won’t impact the drivers.
The film is currently set for release in theatres in 2024, as those behind the flick work to make the production as realistic as possible.
