George Russell and Daniel Ricciardo spotted partying with their girlfriends in Ibiza

George Russell and Daniel Ricciardo appear to have been guests of famous DJ Martin Garrix.

In a surprise encounter, George Russell and Daniel Ricciardo bumped into each other in Ibiza, whilst enjoying Formula 1’s summer break.

Both drivers have jetted off to the Spanish island of Ibiza alongside their girlfriends, with the Mercedes and AlphaTauri stars having bumped into each other at outdoor club Ushuaia Ibiza.

They were at the club seemingly following an invite from famous DJ Martin Garrix, who Lando Norris and Max Verstappen recently jetted off to see at Tomorrowland.

Russell and Ricciardo appear to have then spent time together, along with Ricciardo’s partner Heidi Berger and Russell’s girlfriend Carmen Mundt.

“Crazy who you bump into on holiday! Thanks for the invite @martingarrix,” Russell wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of himself and Ricciardo along with their partners.

Racing legend and three-time F1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart jokingly commented on Russell’s post and said: “We’ve all had that one guy from the office you can’t shake off.”

The Mercedes star was seen with sunglasses on and a drink in hand, something fans loved to see.

Many were happy to see the British driver truly relax and forget about the F1 circuit, following a disappointing start to the 2023 season.

Having entered the year on the back of defeating Lewis Hamilton in the Drivers’ Championship, many expected the King’s Lynn-born driver to build on from his positive maiden Mercedes campaign.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case, with Russell having struggled in the W14.

Hamilton has out-performed Russell all season and has so far gotten more out of the Silver Arrows’ new concept.

So far in 2023, Russell has claimed just one podium, whereas Hamilton has clinched four.

To make matters worse, Russell still finished behind Hamilton when he claimed his P3 at the Spanish Grand Prix, as the seven-time World Champion finished second.

Russell has managed to score just 99 points from the 12 completed races this year, working out at an average of just 8.25 points per race.

For reference, eight points are awarded for finishing sixth.

Hamilton on the other hand has scored 148 points so far and sits fourth in the Drivers’ Championship, working out at roughly 12.33 points per race.

12 points are awarded per race for the driver who finishes fourth.
