The Spanish driver’s performance at the Canadian Grand Prix was undoubtedly one of the highlights of his season so far.
Despite losing positions to Lewis Hamilton at the start, Alonso fought back and secured a second-place finish.
He successfully held off the seven-time world champion, despite encountering fuel issues with his car.
Reflecting on his remarkable race, Alonso expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and the upgrades brought to the car for the Canadian Grand Prix.
He considered it to be their most competitive race of the year, as they were able to match lap times with the frontrunners, finishing only seven seconds behind Max Verstappen.
“I think this was our most competitive race for sure of the year,” Alonso commented after the Canadian Grand Prix.

“Only seven seconds from Max and we were matching the lap times most of the race, so I’m very happy with the car, with the upgrades we brought here, so more chances will come.”
