Some eyebrows were raised when Alonso announced that he would be swapping Alpine for Aston Martin this year, but having heard what he has had to say about his new team, it appears that his decision may have been an intelligent one.

The Spaniard has explained that he hopes to use his experience to better Aston Martin, even if it means the team will not see the benefits of his help until after he retires from racing.
