Fans joke about dating Charles Leclerc after breakup

Charles Leclerc and Charlotte Sine spent three years together in a relationship, before announcing their split earlier this month.

Following the announcement by Charles Leclerc and Charlotte Sine that they’d mutually decided to end their relationship, social media has reacted in a characteristically odd way, with many ignoring a request by the pair.

The Ferrari star broke the news to his 9.5 million Instagram followers that himself and Sine had opted to end their relationship following three years together, but that she will remain a “very special person” to the Monegasque driver.

“Hello everyone, Charlotte and I have decided to end our relationship and we remain good friends.

“We have shared so many great moments and she is and always will be a very special person to me.

“She is amazing and deserves the best, please respect our decision and her privacy in a time like this.

“Thank you.”

Sine posted a very similar message on her Instagram account, which read:

“Hello, Charles and I have decided to end our relationship and stay good friends,” Sine wrote.

“It’s been three beautiful years together with loads of memories. He is an amazing person and I wish him the best.

“Please respect our decision and privacy. Thank you.”

Whilst many posted messages onto social media of how sad they were to hear that the pair had called it a day, some saw it as an opportunity to make a joke.

One Twitter user shared a screenshot of her recent browser history, which showed an array of searches on how to essentially become the Ferrari driver’s girlfriend.

Another Twitter user decided to make fun at those who believe it is “their chance” with the Monegasque, after using a popular meme to joke at those believing so.

“So Charles Leclerc and his long-time girlfriend have broken up and now it’s like every F1 fan think that this is their chance, it’s their destiny to be with him, and they already day dreamed about the wedding and three kids when the others are pretending to be sad,” wrote the user.

Based on those two reactions, it is clear that the duo’s privacy certainly hasn’t been respected as wished, highlighting yet another issue with the F1 community.

Leclerc will perhaps now see the winter break as an opportunity to best prepare for the new season, after managing to claim second in the 2022 Drivers’ Championship.
