Max Verstappen is known and often praised for his aggressive racing style, but the incident in Friday’s afternoon practice session and the comments he made on the radio afterwards were a step too far for most F1 fans.
Verstappen collided with Lance Stroll at turn one, spinning the Canadian’s Racing Point into the gravel and damaging the front of his Red Bull.

Following the incident, which the stewards later deemed to be a misunderstanding between the two drivers and therefore required no further action, Max took to the radio venting: “Is this f****** guy blind?[…] What a r*****. I have damage. What a Mongol. I swear.”
Many fans quickly took to Twitter to condemn Verstappen for using the ableist slurs.
Max, however, was uninterested in the criticism of his remarks, saying it was “not [his] problem” what people thought of the language.
While Verstappen may not currently be in good standing with most fans, following his meeting with Lance Stroll in the stewards’ office, the Canadian said that it was “all good” between the two drivers.
