A thrilling new television drama series centered around Formula 1 is reportedly in development.
Titled “One,” the show is set to be a family drama and will mark the first officially authorised scripted series about the prestigious racing sport, Deadline reported.
Acclaimed actress Felicity Jones, known for her roles in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and “The Theory Of Everything,” has been cast as the lead and will also produce the series under her Piecrust Pictures banner.
However, the release date is contingent upon the resolution of the ongoing writers’ strike.

According to the report, “One” will delve into the tumultuous journey of a fictional family-owned F1 team as they navigate intense rivalries, captivating personalities, and high-stakes multi-million-dollar challenges.
The show aims to blend fiction with the real-world elements of the F1 universe, providing an immersive experience for both racing enthusiasts and drama lovers alike.
While no specific plot details have been disclosed, the premise evokes parallels with the captivating narrative of the Williams team.
Founded by Frank Williams in 1977 and remaining under family management until its sale to Dorilton Capital in 2020, the Williams team embodies the interplay of familial dynamics within the realm of F1.
Frank Williams, who sadly passed away in 2021 at the age of 79, continued to hold an official role until the team’s sale, while his daughter Claire Williams assumed day-to-day management responsibilities, becoming one of the few women to manage an F1 team.
“One” joins a growing list of F1-related projects currently in the works.
Brad Pitt is set to star in an F1 movie produced by Apple Studios, with former F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton serving as a producer.
Apple Studios also announced a documentary focusing on the journey of the British driver in 2022.

Meanwhile, Netflix has its own F1-related thriller titled “The Formula,” featuring renowned actors Robert De Niro and John Boyega.
Additionally, reports emerged in 2022 of Keanu Reeves potentially developing an F1 docuseries for the Disney+ streaming service.
While the upcoming film “Gran Turismo,” set to premiere on August 11, focuses on sports-car racing rather than F1, it tells the inspiring story of Jann Mardenborough, a British driver who secured a race seat through his skills in the eponymous video-game series and went on to compete in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.
