Defiant Sebastian Vettel insists his ‘views won’t be retired’

After winning four world championships over the course of a stellar career, Sebastian Vettel has retired from Formula 1.

The Formula 1 world was saddened over the summer break, when fan favourite Sebastian Vettel announced that he would be retiring from the sport at the age of 35.

The four-time world champion has been with Aston Martin for two seasons after challenging for race victories for the majority of his career with Red Bull and Ferrari.

Towards the latter stages of his career the German showed that he had matured significantly since his younger years, often doing whatever he could to help anyone he could.

Vettel wore a helmet in Canada that protested against environmental crimes going on in the country and was never afraid to speak out for what he believed was right no matter the consequences.

The 35-year-old has confirmed that he will not be returning to Formula 1 in the near future but has suggested that his views and passion for making the world a better place will not change.

“Obviously, my views will not be retired and abandoned,” said Vettel.

“But in which form, I have to figure out. I’m very much looking forward to having nothing scheduled and no commitments.”

The four-time world champion has admitted that he is curious to see what the future holds for him, as he retired to pursue other interests in his life and spend more time with his family.

“It will do a lot of things to my head and to the dynamics, but I’m curious to find out what exactly that will be,” he admitted.

“No commitments, nothing that I signed up for, and I have to do, sort of thing.

“But I have lots of ideas and things I would love to do, but they are not like thick commitments.”

McLaren driver Lando Norris has revealed that he has been inspired by Vettel’s influence in F1 and now seeks to spread awareness about mental health in young people.

Nico Rosberg has urged the rest of the grid to follow suit and use their huge social media followings for good by speaking out on important issues and spreading important messages.

Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he is overwhelmed with cries for help from numerous organisations but unfortunately he cannot help everyone on his own, meaning that the support of his fellow drivers will come as a huge help.
