Daniel Ricciardo causes chaos in Singapore

Daniel Ricciardo wreaked havoc ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix weekend.

Daniel Ricciardo made himself a menace during Thursday’s media sessions ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.

The Australian started by getting in the camera shot of Max Verstappen’s interview in the media pen, smiling and waving in the background, before mouthing “Hi mum.”

He and Lando Norris then got kitted out in special race suits that they will be wearing this weekend in celebration of their collaboration with OKX.

The McLaren livery is a futuristic one inspired by the Cyberpunk video game, and the eye-catching colours are on the attire too.

Ricciardo was dancing and spreading his wings in the new suit, but he was not done there.

The Aussie headed over to the AlphaTauri area, and he got involved in the blind taste test being enjoyed by Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda.

He did a spin trick on a scooter, and joked in an interview that he was “ready to suffer, pleasantly,” this weekend, amid the sweltering heat of Marina Bay.

Ricciardo has a close friendship with Mercedes’ George Russell, and the McLaren driver headed over to the Briton while he was trying to give an interview to Will Buxton.

Ricciardo snuck up behind and started joking with the 24-year-old.

“This guy always rocks up out of nowhere,” joked Russell.

“Very, very sneaky, sir,” replied Ricciardo, adding, “have you seen Mr Deeds?”

“I haven’t… that jut sounded really weird, whatever you just did,” replied the Mercedes driver with a chuckle.

“I’m a bit lost now [as to] where we were… whenever he’s just within reach, he’s just a big orange distraction,” laughed Russell.

“You do yours and I’ll do mine,” he smiled as he tried to continue his interview.

The 33-year-old then made reference to Russell’s tendency to take his shirt off for Instagram photo ops.

“I’m surprised your kit’s still on mate, it’s pretty hot!” added Ricciardo.

“It is, don’t worry. It’s coming, it’s coming” laughed the eight-time podium finisher.

Ricciardo is leaving McLaren at the end of the season, and is vying for a place at one of three teams that still have a seat available for 2023 – Williams, Haas and Alpine.
