Charles Leclerc makes his future clear with comments about Ferrari

Despite a challenging run at Ferrari in recent months, Charles Leclerc is committed to ensuring he brings home a title for the iconic Italian outfit.

Charles Leclerc has emphasised his unwavering commitment to Ferrari and his aspiration to win the Formula 1 World Championship with the iconic Italian team.

Despite speculation about his future, Leclerc’s loyalty to Ferrari remains steadfast, as he expressed his desire to continue with the team beyond his current contract, which expires at the end of the upcoming season.

Ferrari’s performance in the 2023 season has been inconsistent, with only three podium finishes to their name.

This has led to questions about Leclerc’s future with the team, especially as rumours have circulated linking him to Mercedes.

However, the 25-year-old Monegasque driver made it abundantly clear that being a Ferrari driver has always been a dream for him.

“I have always loved Ferrari, and I would love to stay,” Leclerc affirmed.

“I know how difficult it is. We are not in the easiest situation.

“There is a big gap to fill to get to Red Bull’s level, but Ferrari has helped me before I got into F1, believed in me, and put me into the Ferrari seat very early on, and it’s always a team that I’ve loved.”

Leclerc’s dedication to the Scuderia is resolute, and he remains focused on his primary goal of winning the championship with Ferrari.

“My priority is to win with Ferrari, and it is not my worry whether I won’t achieve it or whatever.

“We just need to work on the team and try to improve it as much as possible, and I hope that I can achieve that one day.”

Despite the ongoing uncertainties regarding his contract, Leclerc revealed that formal discussions have yet to take place.

“There are some jokes here and there, but no serious talks yet,” he said.

“Honestly, I am not in a rush.

“I don’t think Ferrari’s priority is signing me at the moment, which is understandable because we are all just focused on trying to have the best race car possible as quickly as possible.”

Leclerc acknowledged the team’s current priorities and hinted that contract talks might happen later in the season.

“I understand that. So, for now, we are just focusing on the season.
