A Golden Retriever named Halo has become the newest and perhaps most adorable addition to Kim Kardashian’s household, courtesy of Lewis Hamilton.
The seven-time world champion made the surprise gift during the F1 summer break in July, with the puppy flown out to meet Hamilton in Los Angeles by breeder Goldiva Goldens.
Speaking at a fan event ahead of the US Grand Prix, Hamilton opened up warmly about the time he has spent with his girlfriend’s four children.
“My girlfriend’s kids, I love spending time with them,” he told the crowd, making clear how much he has embraced his expanded family role.
He elaborated further, saying: “She’s got four, so I’m getting to play with these kids. I got them a dog this year, so little Halo is a new member of that family.”
Hamilton also drew a personal parallel, noting that his own niece and nephew had long been a source of joy before this new chapter in his life.
Kardashian shares her children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, with rapper Kanye West, and Hamilton has clearly embraced stepping into their lives.
The 41-year-old driver first introduced Halo to his millions of social media followers during the summer break, and has since posted video of the growing Golden Retriever playing with a toy ball.
Hamilton and the 46-year-old Kardashian initially kept their relationship out of the public eye before the Ferrari driver shared photographs of them together on social media, confirming what had been widely reported.
Since going public, the couple have been increasingly visible together, with Kardashian travelling to support Hamilton at the Monaco Grand Prix and, more recently, the Singapore Grand Prix.
The relationship has attracted enormous attention given both individuals’ global profiles, spanning the worlds of sport, entertainment, and fashion respectively.
What has emerged from Hamilton’s own words, though, is a picture of domesticity that goes well beyond the headlines, with the puppy gift offering a glimpse into the quieter side of one of sport’s most recognisable figures.
