Pre-season testing for the 2021 F1 campaign got underway in Bahrain today, with all teams present at the three-day test as they were all able to develop and assemble their cars in time.

The grid this year will feature two rebranded teams, with Racing Point becoming Aston Martin and Renault being rebranded Alpine (though it will continue to be the French car-maker’s F1 works team.)

Teams will use the three-day test as an opportunity to gather data, experiment with set-ups and parts, and give their new drivers a chance to get accustomed to their protocols and ways of doing things.

It will be difficult to gauge the relative performance of the cars due to variables like differing fuel loads, engine modes and track evolution.
