Williams’ Acting Team Principal Tests Positive For COVID-19

Roberts will not attend this weekend’s Turkish Grand Prix due to mandatory self-isolation protocols.

Williams’ acting team principal Simon Roberts has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the upcoming Turkish Grand Prix.

In a statement, the team said Roberts has not made the trip to Istanbul, nor has he been in close contact with any other members of its race team.

“Simon is feeling otherwise well but will now isolate for the required 10-day period as per UK national guidelines whilst supporting trackside operations remotely this weekend,” the Williams F1 Team said.

“Dave Redding, team manager, and chief engineer of vehicle design, Adam Carter, will assume his responsibilities on the ground in Turkey.”

Roberts’ COVID-19 test result came back negative on Monday, but he was tested again on Wednesday after showing coronavirus symptoms.
